Annual instruction

Instruction for the handling of telescopic forklifts

Back to the overview

The aim of the training is to ensure safe behavior when operating telescopic handlers.

Training provides you with the opportunity to pass on our knowledge and experience to your employees, making your company more successful.

Benefits of training:

  • Your employees learn to assess risks and therefore work with fewer errors
  • You fulfill your legal obligations for training
  • Employees know what protective equipment and safety measures are required
  • Your employees can work safely and without interruption, making them more productive
  • Your employees are more motivated because they see that their health and safety are important to the company
  • Your work procedures are more reliable because employees are better informed

According to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Industrial Safety Regulation, and Directive General of the DGUV No. 1, employers must regularly (at least once a year) train their employees. Directive General of the DGUV No. 1 even requires written proof.

Regular training is necessary because everyone forgets much of what they have learned after some time. Just try to remember everything you learned in school.

Experience shows that many things are forgotten even under the best circumstances. Especially when no accidents occur, dangers and safety measures are quickly forgotten, and a new training is necessary to refresh the memory.

Prerequisites for participating in the annual training for telescopic handlers:

  • Valid operator training according to DGUV-G 308-009, such as the TelehandlerCard
  • Proficiency in the German language, both spoken and written*

* Training can be conducted with an interpreter.

The annual training consists of a theoretical part, which can be completed as part of the TelehandlerCard training or booked as a separate session. The training is conducted without a written performance assessment and serves only to refresh existing knowledge, lasting approximately two hours. The mateco Academy also offers the option to complete the training as a webinar via Microsoft Teams upon request.

The training covers two essential topics:

  • The hazards faced by employees in their work
  • The protective measures to mitigate these hazards
